A massive Iran nuclear strike by Israel has escalated tensions in the Middle East, with US President Donald Trump urging Iran to negotiate before it’s too late. The airstrikes killed top Iranian commanders and nuclear scientists, prompting Tehran to vow severe retaliation.

Trump Issues Stark Warning

On Friday, Trump posted a direct message to Iranian leaders on his Truth Social platform. He urged them to “make a deal before there is nothing left.” He added that further attacks were “already planned” and would be “even more brutal” if Iran failed to comply. Trump also hinted that Iran had missed a previous 60-day window to negotiate but might now have “a second chance.”

Tehran Vows Retaliation

In response, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned that Israel must “expect severe punishment.” Iranian state media confirmed the deaths of key figures, including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Hossein Salami and military chief Mohammad Bagheri. Nuclear scientists Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi and Fereydoun Abbasi were also killed.

Israel Targets Natanz

Israel launched an extensive overnight operation involving 200 warplanes. Brigadier General Effie Defrin said over 100 Iranian sites were hit, including the primary uranium enrichment facility in Natanz. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel struck at the “heart of Iran’s nuclear programme.”

US Attempts to Distance Itself

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the United States had no role in the Israeli strikes. He urged Tehran not to target American personnel or interests in the region. However, Iranian officials said Washington would be held “responsible for consequences.”

Drone Attack in Retaliation

Early Friday, Israel reported intercepting nearly 100 Iranian drones. These were launched in retaliation for the strikes, further intensifying the conflict.

As diplomatic tensions spiral and military actions escalate, the international community watches closely. Iran’s response and Trump’s threats have brought the region to a critical point—one that could reshape the geopolitical balance.
