Quetta Gladiators rewrote history on May 7 by posting a PSL record total of 263 for 3 against Islamabad United at Rawalpindi. This remarkable feat marked the highest-ever total in Pakistan Super League history and also set a new benchmark for men’s T20s in Pakistan.

Centuries That Stunned the Stadium

Rilee Rossouw and Hasan Nawaz became the first pair in PSL to score centuries in the same innings. They are only the tenth duo in men’s T20 history to achieve this rare milestone.

Blistering Finish in the Final Overs

Quetta accelerated fiercely in the last ten overs, adding 160 runs between the 11th and 20th overs. This matched the PSL record for most runs in that phase, previously set by Lahore Qalandars in 2023. Rossouw’s dominance was clear—he scored 88.46% of his runs in boundaries, the highest such percentage for any PSL centurion.

More Milestones in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi continued to be a run-fest, becoming just the seventh venue in men’s T20 history to host three 250-plus team totals. Notably, all such high scores in PSL have occurred at this ground. Quetta had once suffered from a similar onslaught when Multan Sultans scored 262 for 3 here in 2023.

United’s Unwanted Record

Imad Wasim provided a silver lining for Islamabad with 56 at No. 9—the highest score from that position or lower in PSL history. However, the team’s woes continued with their fourth consecutive loss, a record losing streak. This slump followed their historic ten-match winning streak, the longest in league history.
