Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s large-scale military strikes on Iran, labeling them as “unjustified and illegitimate aggression” and a blatant violation of international law. In a statement issued on Friday, the Foreign Office (FO) said the strikes violated Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling the action a clear breach of the United Nations Charter and the foundational principles of international law.
“Iran has the right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter,” the FO asserted, backing Tehran’s right to respond to what it termed as an unprovoked act of war. Pakistan emphasized that Israel’s actions pose a grave threat to regional peace and security, warning of dangerous consequences if such provocations are allowed to continue unchecked.
The condemnation followed Israel’s announcement that it had launched Operation Rising Lion, targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, missile factories, and senior military figures, including top commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Iran Suffers Devastating Blows, Retaliation Expected
Explosions were reported in multiple Iranian cities, including at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility, one of Iran’s most guarded nuclear sites. Israeli sources claimed the strikes aimed to prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon. Iran, however, has denied any such intent.
Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed the death of Commander Hossein Salami, one of the country’s top military figures. State media also reported that the IRGC headquarters in Tehran was struck, resulting in the deaths of several civilians, including children, in nearby residential areas.
As tensions soared, Israel declared a state of emergency, anticipating retaliatory strikes in the form of missile and drone attacks from Iran. Iranian military sources have hinted that their response will be “measured but powerful.”
Pakistan Urges Global Action to Halt Aggression
In a strong message of solidarity, Pakistan reaffirmed its support for the Iranian people and condemned the attack as a “brazen violation of international norms.” The FO stressed that the incident risks destabilizing the broader Middle East and undermining global security.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar echoed the condemnation, describing the Israeli assault as “abhorrent” and a “shocking disregard for human conscience.” In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Dar wrote, “This abhorrent action has shaken the foundations of international law as well as the conscience of humanity and gravely undermines regional stability and international security.”

He urged the international community and the United Nations to act urgently to “halt Israeli aggression and hold the aggressor accountable.”
Pakistan’s stance reinforces a growing call from several Muslim-majority nations for collective global pressure on Israel to cease hostilities and respect international boundaries. The FO warned that failure to stop these attacks could ignite a broader regional conflict, with serious implications for global peace.
As the situation unfolds, Islamabad stands firmly aligned with Tehran, demanding respect for sovereignty, peace, and lawful conduct in international affairs.
