Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Pakistan and the wider Islamic world on the occasion of Eid ul Adha. In his message for 1446 Hijri, he praised the sacred Islamic rituals and urged everyone to remember the oppressed in Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
“I felicitate from the core of my heart the entire Pakistani nation and the Islamic world on the blessed occasion of Eid ul Adha and the magnificent Islamic ritual of Hajj,” he said.
Reflecting on the historic sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS), the prime minister described their devotion as a timeless symbol of selflessness. He noted that Allah Almighty elevated their sacrifice to the level of worship, signifying its deep spiritual meaning.
Eid ul Adha Calls for Sacrifice Beyond Rituals
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Eid ul Adha is not just about animal sacrifice, but a reminder to rise above personal interests for greater collective causes.
“This occasion teaches us to sacrifice our desires and interests for the sake of higher objectives,” he said.
He stressed that the spirit of Eid nurtures essential values like patience, courage, and altruism—qualities necessary for national development.
“Our beloved country is on the path of progress. At this critical moment, we must embrace unity and the spirit of sacrifice,” he urged.
The premier called on citizens to prioritize collective welfare over individual gains, emphasizing the need to fulfill economic and social responsibilities to build a self-reliant and strong Pakistan.
National Unity Key to Overcoming Challenges
Recalling recent moments of national solidarity, particularly during tensions with India, Prime Minister Shehbaz highlighted the importance of unity in defending Pakistan.
“The nation stood united against the enemy, showing that we are prepared to make any sacrifice for our defence and dignity,” he said.
He called for the same spirit to be directed toward resolving internal economic and social issues. According to the prime minister, persistent unity and resolve are crucial to overcoming national hardships.
“True greatness lies in working for the nation’s well-being, not just personal success,” he noted.
Pakistan Stands Firm with Palestine and Kashmir
In his message, the prime minister made a heartfelt appeal to remember the people of Palestine and Kashmir on this sacred day.
“We express our unwavering support for the oppressed people of Gaza and the courageous Kashmiris who have been fighting for their right to self-determination,” he stated.
Shehbaz Sharif pledged that Pakistan would continue to raise its voice for their rights on all international forums.
“We will always support their just and historic struggle,” he emphasized.
He concluded with a prayer for peace and unity:
“Let us pledge to build a Pakistan where love, brotherhood, and national unity thrive. May Allah bless us with the true joy of Eid ul Adha and the strength to act on its message of sacrifice and selflessness.”
