Iran has issued a stern warning, declaring it will hold the United States accountable if Israel attacks its nuclear facilities. This strong message follows a CNN report suggesting Israel may be preparing for such a strike. As tensions rise, the situation has placed the upcoming U.S.-Iran nuclear talks under intense global scrutiny.
Fifth Round of Nuclear Talks Looms
Despite deep disagreements over uranium enrichment, Iran and the U.S. are scheduled for a fifth round of nuclear negotiations this Friday. Washington remains concerned that Iran’s enrichment activities could lead to the development of nuclear weapons. However, Tehran maintains that its nuclear program is solely for civilian use.
Firm Warning to Israel and the International Community
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, warning against any Israeli military action. He stated that Tehran would respond “decisively” to any threat or unlawful move by Israel. “We urge the international community to take immediate action against these continued Israeli threats,” Araghchi said.

He emphasized that Iran would take “special defensive measures” to protect its nuclear sites if provoked. Araghchi further asserted that the U.S. would be seen as a “participant” in any attack carried out by Israel, given its close alliance with Tel Aviv.
Proportionate Response Promised
According to Araghchi, Iran’s response will match the level of international action taken to prevent conflict. “The scale and nature of our reaction will directly depend on how seriously global institutions fulfill their obligations,” he added.
Mounting Diplomatic Pressure
As fears of a potential military confrontation grow, diplomats warn that the breakdown of nuclear negotiations—or a deal that fails to address Israeli concerns—could trigger strikes. Iran’s warning highlights the fragility of the region’s security and the urgent need for diplomatic solutions.
With new intelligence hinting at Israeli preparations, and Tehran’s firm stance, global powers now face increased pressure to ease tensions and avoid escalation.
