The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) recently held a series of open houses that spotlighted student innovation and strong ties with industry leaders. The events took place across three of its top institutes and offered a glimpse into the future of engineering and technology in Pakistan.

SCEE Bridges Students with Industry

The School of Civil & Environmental Engineering (SCEE) hosted an Open House and Job Fair where students from Civil, Environmental, and GIS programs presented 54 final-year design projects. The event attracted over 60 companies, including WAPDA, FWO, NDMA, NESPAK, GIZ, and Halcrow Pakistan Ltd. These interactions created recruitment opportunities and encouraged meaningful industry-academia collaboration.

SEECS Delivers Smart Tech Solutions

At the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (SEECS), students demonstrated innovative projects in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, IoT, Cybersecurity, FinTech, and Sustainable Technologies. Attendees explored advanced labs and saw firsthand how academic research is shaping real-world solutions.

SMME Highlights Practical Engineering

Meanwhile, the School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering (SMME) showcased over 35 final-year projects developed by more than 120 students. These multidisciplinary projects stressed teamwork, practical application, and real-world problem solving. The event attracted participation from both industry experts and academics.

A Celebration of Future Talent

The NUST open houses stood as a powerful testament to the university’s commitment to outcome-based education and hands-on learning. They offered students a chance to present their creativity and technical skills, while providing industries a window into the talent pool of Pakistan’s future engineers and innovators.
