ISLAMABAD – The Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India held a third hotline contact on Wednesday afternoon. The conversation took place as part of ongoing efforts to uphold the ceasefire agreement reached earlier this year.

Well-placed sources confirmed the communication. It marks the third contact between the two senior military officials since the ceasefire was reaffirmed. The ceasefire was facilitated by the United States and other friendly countries.

The DGMOs discussed the current situation along the Line of Control (LoC). Both sides agreed to maintain the status quo and ensure peace in border areas. The agreement remains “for the time being,” as per the understanding reached in their last talk on Monday.

No official press release or joint statement was issued after the latest discussion. Details of the conversation have not been made public. However, insiders suggest both sides showed willingness to avoid escalation and prevent misunderstandings.

Military sources in Islamabad say the situation along the LoC remains calm. They confirmed there has been no major violation since the ceasefire reaffirmation.

The first hotline call took place after the initial ceasefire agreement. The second was held earlier this week, and the third followed quickly as both sides try to maintain stability.

The ongoing communication is seen as a positive sign amid long-standing tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. Diplomatic sources view the hotline contact as a confidence-building measure.

Regional observers believe consistent dialogue between the DGMOs could pave the way for broader talks. However, they caution that progress will depend on political will and mutual trust.

The next round of communication is expected if the current calm holds and both sides remain committed to peace.
