Celebrating Pakistani Talent
Richards applauded the league’s role in developing local cricketers. “The PSL has given us some thrilling matches and helped nurture top talent from Pakistan,” he said. “It deserves more global recognition for what it has achieved in a short time.”
He also emphasized how tournaments like PSL are vital for grooming young players and showcasing them on an international platform.
T20 Format Suited My Style
Reflecting on the evolution of the game, the batting great noted how perfectly suited the T20 format would have been for his aggressive playing style. “With the kind of bats used today, I think I would have been even more dangerous,” he joked. “T20 would have been a perfect format for me.”
He also commented on modern-day cricket’s tilt in favor of batters, especially with two new balls in ODIs. “Fans love big hits, and the game is evolving that way,” he added.
Hopeful for Gladiators’ Comeback
Looking ahead, Richards expressed confidence in Quetta Gladiators’ performance this season. “We are gaining momentum. Our goal is to compete hard and bring back the title,” he concluded with optimism.
