Security forces killed three militants and injured several others in a high-stakes militant operation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district on April 13, 2025. The joint operation was carried out after intelligence revealed the presence of a militant group in the Tajori area.
Coordinated Security Response
The operation was launched under the leadership of District Police Officer (DPO) Jawad Ishaq. Acting on precise intelligence, personnel from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and the Quick Response Force (QRF) converged in a forested zone near Khan Khel Mandzai. This location lies at the border of Tajori and Bargai police stations.
Authorities reported that the encounter involved 20 to 25 heavily armed militants. A fierce exchange of fire broke out, lasting nearly two hours. During this time, three militants were killed on the spot, while several others sustained injuries.
No Security Casualties
Remarkably, there were no reported casualties among the security personnel involved in the mission. The forces managed to secure the area while keeping their own losses to zero.

Continued Sweep Operations
Security forces continued combing the area after the initial operation concluded. Officials suspect that several injured fighters are still hiding in the surrounding terrain. These follow-up operations aim to prevent any regrouping or retaliation attempts by the militant elements.

Inspector General of KP Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, praised the professionalism and courage displayed by the security forces. He also acknowledged the crucial role played by the local peace committee and residents, who supported the mission by providing valuable ground intelligence.
“The cooperation of the local community is vital in our mission to maintain peace and security,” the IG stated. He announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for the personnel who took part in the successful operation.
