PSL 8 Matches to Continue in Karachi Despite KPO Attack

After an attack on the Karachi Police Office (KPO), concerns were raised about the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 matches scheduled to take place in the city.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the PSL franchise owners have confirmed that the games will continue as planned.

The decision was made after an emergency meeting between the PCB, franchise representatives, security agencies, and the provincial government. All parties agreed to proceed with the ongoing PSL 8 edition in Karachi.

Today (Saturday), Karachi Kings will face Quetta Gladiators at the National Bank Cricket Arena. Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi’s squad will arrive in the city as scheduled.

Karachi is set to host back-to-back matches on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with the last game in the city scheduled for February 26.

During the KPO attack, Quetta and Lahore Qalandars were practicing at the stadium. Both teams remained inside until given security clearance.

It’s important to note that despite the incident, the PCB and franchise owners have deemed it safe to continue with the PSL matches in Karachi.

The decision was made after careful consideration and consultation with security agencies and the provincial government.

In conclusion, the PSL 8 matches in Karachi will proceed as planned, with appropriate measures in place to ensure the safety of players and attendees.
