Iran’s military chief, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, expressed deep gratitude to Pakistan for its support during the recent 12-day war with Israel. In a phone call with Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Mousavi praised Pakistan’s “bold and courageous stance,” which he said strengthened regional stability during a highly volatile period.
Tehran Praises Islamabad’s Support
Mousavi commended the Pakistani people and government for openly condemning what he described as unprovoked Israeli aggression. He highlighted that Pakistan’s moral backing sent a strong message as Israel launched strikes on Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians from June 13 onward.
The Iranian general alleged that the United States, under President Donald Trump, aided Israel by targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow—sites that fall under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He further accused Western nations of supporting Israel both rhetorically and militarily.

Pakistan Underscores Regional Peace
Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in the region. He noted the long-standing ties between the two countries and emphasized the need for ongoing communication between the armed forces of both nations to counter external threats and ensure mutual security.
Ceasefire After Intense Escalation
The conflict, which began on June 13 with Israeli strikes, resulted in the deaths of several Iranian commanders, including high-ranking members of the Revolutionary Guard Corps. In retaliation, Iran launched attacks on Israeli targets. The United States also intervened, claiming to have hit Iranian nuclear facilities.
Iran responded by targeting US military bases in Iraq and Qatar. The situation escalated until international pressure forced both sides to accept a ceasefire on June 24. Iranian sources claim that Israel was the first to halt hostilities after suffering unexpected setbacks.
Both commanders concluded their call by agreeing to enhance defense coordination and reaffirmed their shared goal of preserving regional stability amid growing global tensions.
