In a move to improve customer convenience, extended bank hours have been introduced by Habib Bank Limited (HBL) at 153 selected branches across Pakistan. The bank announced that these branches will now remain open for longer durations on weekdays to accommodate increased customer demand.
New Bank Schedule
According to HBL, the selected branches will operate from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The announcement was made through the bank’s official social media platforms, highlighting a customer-first approach.
The statement read, “Your time, our priority. HBL branches are now open for extended hours. Visit selected branches from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.”

This two-hour extension aims to provide greater flexibility for clients who are unable to visit during traditional banking hours. The extended schedule is particularly helpful for working professionals and business owners.
Bank Holiday on July 1
Meanwhile, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that Tuesday, July 1, 2025, will be observed as a bank holiday. All public and private banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks (MFBs) will remain closed for public dealings on that day.
However, internal bank staff will still report to duty as per normal working hours. The banks will reopen for public transactions on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
This annual closure is part of SBP’s routine practice to ensure proper closing of financial books and reconciliation procedures for the fiscal year.
Aim to Enhance Customer Experience
By extending its banking hours, HBL is setting an example for other financial institutions to consider more customer-oriented policies. The change is part of a broader effort to modernize Pakistan’s banking sector and improve service accessibility across major cities.
