Pakistan Senate Tables Joint Muslim Condemnation of Israeli Aggression

In a strong diplomatic move, Pakistan presented a joint Muslim condemnation against Israeli military actions in the Senate on June 18, 2025. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar submitted a formal statement, signed by 21 Muslim-majority nations, denouncing Israel’s ongoing attacks on Iran. The declaration was issued by their foreign ministers and reflects a rare display of regional unity.

Senate Presentation Sends Clear Message


During the Senate session in Islamabad, Senator Dar tabled the joint statement dated June 13. It represented countries including Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Egypt, Qatar, the UAE, Iraq, and Pakistan. The declaration condemned Israeli violations of international law and actions that undermine regional peace.

Emphasis on Sovereignty and Diplomacy


The statement highlighted respect for national sovereignty and regional integrity. It stressed the need for peaceful conflict resolution and urged all sides to uphold the UN Charter and maintain good neighborly relations. Foreign ministers expressed concern over escalating hostilities, warning that unchecked aggression could destabilize the Middle East.

Call for Immediate Ceasefire


The ministers demanded an immediate ceasefire and collective international efforts to de-escalate tensions. They warned that continued violence could lead to dire humanitarian and security consequences across the region.

Nuclear Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Urged


The declaration also called for a nuclear weapons-free Middle East. It urged all regional states to join the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) without exception. Furthermore, the statement emphasized the protection of nuclear facilities and adherence to IAEA guidelines and UN Security Council resolutions. It warned that any attack on such sites would breach international humanitarian law.

Maritime Security and Peaceful Navigation Stressed


Muslim nations also reaffirmed the need to protect freedom of navigation in international waters. They urged against any actions threatening maritime security and stressed the importance of stability in global trade routes.

The declaration concluded that dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law remain the only effective tools for achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.
