Share the latest news updates

As the Pakistan-Iran diplomacy front remains active, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a phone call with Iran’s top diplomat on June 13, 2025. This came just as Tehran launched dozens of missiles at Israel in response to Israeli strikes that killed top Iranian military leaders and damaged nuclear facilities.

Tehran Responds with Force

Iran fired missiles at several Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Air raid sirens went off across the country, and residents rushed into bomb shelters. Plumes of smoke filled the skies, but no casualties were immediately reported. Israeli forces activated all air defense systems, warning of “difficult hours ahead.”

Dar Expresses Support for Iran

In a statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said Ishaq Dar condemned Israel’s “blatant aggression” and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Iran. He expressed solidarity with the Iranian people and conveyed condolences for the lives lost during the Israeli attacks.

Dar called the Israeli strikes a violation of international law and the UN Charter. He stressed that the violence undermines regional stability and that Iran has the right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

Pakistan Calls for Peace

Dar also announced the formation of a 24/7 Crisis Management Unit to ensure the safety of Pakistani nationals and pilgrims in Iran. On social media, he described the Israeli operation as a “brazen violation” of Iranian sovereignty.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed these views. He urged the international community to act swiftly to prevent further escalation and preserve regional peace.

Wider Global Reaction

The United States distanced itself from the Israeli actions, stating that Israel acted unilaterally. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that America’s priority is to protect its forces in the region.

Saudi Arabia also condemned the Israeli airstrikes and called on the UN to intervene.

Meanwhile, flights over Israel, Iran, Iraq, and Jordan were rerouted. Iran closed its airspace, and Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport was shut down.

The conflict continues to deepen, drawing concern from across the globe
