Pakistan’s National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution on Friday condemning Israeli aggression against Iran, calling the airstrikes unjustified and illegitimate. Lawmakers denounced the attacks as a grave violation of international law, warning of dangerous global consequences.
Violation of Sovereignty
The resolution, presented by Syed Naveed Qamar, stated that the Israeli strikes violated the sovereignty of a United Nations member state. It also stressed that the actions breached fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter.
The House declared that Iran has a legitimate right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. It warned that ongoing Israeli aggression threatens not just the Middle East but also global peace and stability. The resolution emphasized that Israel would bear full responsibility for any resulting escalation.

Call for International Action
The National Assembly urged the Pakistani government to immediately request emergency meetings of both the UN Security Council and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The goal is to initiate a global discussion, condemn the attacks, and push for an immediate ceasefire.
Members of the Assembly expressed complete solidarity with the Iranian people, condemning the loss of innocent lives and widespread destruction caused by the strikes.
Budget Debate Begins
Following the resolution, the National Assembly began discussions on the federal budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan opened the debate by urging tax exemptions for the Information Technology sector. He argued that such a step would boost exports and contribute to economic growth.
In response, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said the government is prioritizing reforms to improve investment conditions and drive development. He highlighted budgetary measures aimed at uplifting Balochistan and assured the House that constructive suggestions from all members, including the opposition, would be considered.
The session marked a strong stance on foreign policy while initiating important economic discussions for the country’s future.
