Share the latest news updates

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a nationwide heatwave alert, warning of dangerously high temperatures in several regions. The advisory urges people to avoid outdoor activity during peak hours, as extreme heat continues to grip much of the country.

Scorching Temperatures Ahead

According to the PMD, temperatures are expected to range between 45°C and 50°C in many districts. The hottest period will be from 11am to 4pm, with no relief expected from rainfall. The heatwave is forecast to persist over the coming days, making conditions increasingly severe.

Major Cities on High Alert

Islamabad and surrounding areas will continue to face intense heat and dry conditions. Lahore, the capital of Punjab, may see temperatures rise to 46°C, with no rain in sight. The PMD warns of high UV levels and advises the public to take precautions.

Strong Winds May Worsen Conditions

In the plains of Punjab, strong and dusty winds are expected during the afternoon. These winds could worsen the already harsh conditions, especially for those exposed to outdoor environments.

Sindh and Balochistan at Risk

Both Sindh and Balochistan will face extreme temperatures, especially in their central and southern plains. The heat poses a serious risk of dehydration and heatstroke in these regions. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and advising limited travel during peak heat hours.

Mixed Forecast for KP and Northern Areas

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the plains will experience high temperatures similar to other provinces. However, upper areas such as Chitral, Dir, and Swat may receive light rainfall. Despite this, overall weather across KP will remain hot and dry.

Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir will also continue to face dry and warm conditions, with no significant rainfall expected.

Public Health Advisory Issued

Medical professionals advise wearing light clothing, drinking plenty of fluids, and watching for signs of heat exhaustion or dehydration.

With temperatures continuing to rise, citizens are encouraged to stay alert and protect themselves during this dangerous heatwave.
