Panic in Islamabad
A powerful windstorm swept through Islamabad. Strong winds toppled trees and billboards. Drivers rushed to shelter under bridges and flyovers. Shoppers stranded in malls expressed fear. “No one wanted to leave, afraid a billboard might crash onto their car,” one visitor said.
“We expected a hailstorm, but luckily, it didn’t happen,” another added.
NDMA Issues Warning
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a fresh alert. It warned of ongoing rainfall over the coming days. The risk of landslides remains high in Gilgit-Baltistan and KP. Vulnerable areas include Mansehra, Diamir, Hunza, and Nagar.
The NDMA advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel and remain alert. They urged people to follow official updates and use the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert App for real-time safety information.
Emergency teams remain on standby. Citizens are encouraged to follow social media, news channels, and NDMA bulletins for timely alerts.
As weather conditions remain unstable, authorities continue to monitor the situation and coordinate relief efforts.
