Lahore Qalandars victory in Eliminator 2 of PSL 10 was nothing short of dominant as they demolished Islamabad United by 95 runs at Gaddafi Stadium. This emphatic win has earned them a spot in the final of the Pakistan Super League for the third time.

Qalandars Set Massive Target

Lahore opted to bat and posted a strong 202 for 8 in 20 overs. Though Fakhar Zaman departed early for 12, Mohammad Naeem took charge with a blazing 50, smashing two sixes and seven fours. His 70-run stand with Abdullah Shafique laid the foundation.

After Naeem’s exit, Kusal Perera kept the momentum going. He struck 61 off 35 balls, with two sixes and seven boundaries. He partnered well with Bhanuka Rajapaksa, adding 51 crucial runs. Asif Ali’s quickfire 15 off 7 added to the late surge. Despite losing three wickets in the final over, Lahore passed the 200-run mark.

United Collapse Under Pressure

Islamabad United’s chase fell apart early. Qalandars’ bowlers struck hard, reducing them to 12-3 in 3.2 overs. Salman Mirza bowled a peach to dismiss Sahibzada Farhan, while Shaheen Afridi removed Muhammad Shahzad for a duck.

Rassie van der Dussen added only 7 before falling. Imad Wasim and Agha Salman tried to rebuild but failed to counter the pressure. Imad fell for a slow 8, and despite a brief 39-run stand, Salman was caught after scoring 33.

Shadab Khan offered resistance with 26 off 14, hitting three sixes. But Rishad Hossain’s double strike in the 13th over broke the back of the innings. Islamabad crumbled to 107 all out in just 15.1 overs.

Bowlers Seal the Deal

Shaheen Afridi, Salman Mirza, and Rishad Hossain each grabbed three wickets. Their clinical effort sealed Lahore’s massive win and confirmed their place in the PSL 10 final.

Now, the Qalandars look to carry this explosive form into the championship match.
