The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made bold changes to the Pakistan T20 squad ahead of the upcoming home series against Bangladesh.
New Captain, New Coach
Mike Hesson, former New Zealand coach, takes charge of Pakistan’s T20 side for the first time. He recently replaced Aaqib Javed. Leading the team on the field will be Salman Ali Agha, appointed captain with an eye on the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
Veterans Left Out
Shaheen played in Pakistan’s last T20 series against New Zealand in March. However, both Babar and Rizwan have now been excluded for a second consecutive series. Their recent T20 performances drew criticism for slow strike rates. The PCB said the selection was based on performances in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), which concludes May 25.

Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman also return after recovering from injuries. Fast bowler Hasan Ali rejoins the squad after missing nearly a year due to injury.
