Pakistan Denies Indian Allegation of Golden Temple Attack

Share the latest news updates

Tensions between India and Pakistan have once again sparked international concern. The latest dispute involves a serious claim by India that Pakistan tried to target the Golden Temple in Amritsar, one of Sikhism’s most sacred sites. Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) swiftly dismissed the allegation, calling it false and dangerous. The incident has added fuel to what officials are now calling the “Golden Temple Tensions.”

India’s Accusation and Pakistan’s Response

India recently accused Pakistan of attempting to launch an attack on the Golden Temple during heightened military tensions. Citing no evidence, Indian military officials claimed their forces had intercepted the threat. They even allowed the temple management to deploy weapons as a precaution.

Pakistan rejected the accusation, labeling it a fabrication. FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated, “We categorically reject these allegations. Pakistan holds all places of worship in the highest regard.” He emphasized that targeting a religious site like the Golden Temple goes against Pakistan’s values.

Highlighting Contradictions

Khan pointed out that India had, in fact, targeted places of worship in Pakistan on May 6 and 7. He said these false claims seem designed to deflect attention from India’s own actions.

He also highlighted Pakistan’s role in preserving Sikh heritage. Each year, thousands of Sikh pilgrims travel to Pakistan to visit sacred sites, including the Gurdwara Sahib in Kartarpur. Pakistan allows visa-free access to this holy place through the Kartarpur Corridor, showcasing its commitment to religious respect.

Disputing Nuclear Claims

Adding to the controversy, Indian media claimed that Pakistan had used nuclear-capable Shaheen missiles. Pakistan denied this and noted that the Indian army deleted a video containing the claim once it was revealed to be false.

Khan stated that these stories are part of a larger effort by New Delhi to promote a distorted view of current events. He urged the international community to see through what he called “fabricated narratives” and focus on facts, not fear.

Call for Responsibility

In a region already burdened by decades of mistrust, both nations must avoid reckless statements. False claims risk triggering deeper conflict, and the world watches closely.
