Twelve terrorists linked to Indian proxy outfits were killed in separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The operations also claimed the lives of two Pakistani soldiers, who embraced martyrdom during fierce exchanges.
Operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Security forces launched IBOs targeting banned outfits like the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). In Lakki Marwat, five terrorists described as “Indian-sponsored” were killed. Another operation in Bannu resulted in the neutralisation of two more militants. In North Waziristan’s Mir Ali area, two additional terrorists were eliminated after they ambushed a military convoy.
Tragically, two soldiers — Sepoy Farhad Ali Turi from Kurram and Lance Naik Sabir Afridi from Kohat — were martyred in this encounter. ISPR emphasized that sanitisation efforts are ongoing to eliminate any remaining threats.

Balochistan Engagements
The military also conducted successful operations in Awaran and Turbat. In Gishkur, Awaran, troops killed a militant identified as Younas and wounded two others. In Turbat, two more “Indian-backed” terrorists, including ring leader Sabr Ullah and Amjad alias Bichoo, were neutralised. Arms and explosives were recovered during these raids.
These militants were reportedly involved in attacks on security forces and targeted killings of civilians.
Nation’s Leadership Reacts
President Asif Ali Zardari praised the military’s actions and reaffirmed the country’s resolve to eliminate terrorism. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also lauded the professionalism of the forces, condemning India’s role in sponsoring violence within Pakistan.
He said India’s attempt to spread chaos in Balochistan had been exposed and would be countered with full force.
Ongoing Threats and Rising Violence
Terror incidents have surged in recent years, particularly after TTP ended its ceasefire in 2022. March saw over 100 attacks — the highest monthly count since 2014. Pakistan now ranks second in the 2025 Global Terrorism Index, with terror-related deaths up by 45% in a year, reaching 1,081 fatalities.
