The PSX issued an official notification on Monday confirming that trading activities will be suspended for the day. The announcement stated: “Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited will remain closed on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, being a public holiday declared by the Government of Pakistan on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer.”
What Is Youm-e-Takbeer?
Youm-e-Takbeer commemorates Pakistan’s nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998, in the Chaghi hills of Balochistan. These tests established Pakistan as the world’s seventh nuclear-armed state and the first Muslim-majority nation with nuclear capability.
