Israel Launches New Ground Offensive in Gaza Amid Ceasefire

Israel has launched extensive new ground operations in both northern and southern Gaza, intensifying its military campaign despite ongoing ceasefire talks in Qatar. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that its ground troops, backed by the Israeli Air Force (IAF), have entered key areas across Gaza, escalating the conflict once again.
Military Offensive Expands
The IDF said it had already eliminated dozens of militants and dismantled several above-ground and underground terrorist infrastructure sites. It added that troops were now positioned at “key strategic points” within Gaza and that operations would continue “as required to defend Israeli civilians.”

Rising Civilian Death Toll
The Gaza health ministry reported that at least 130 Palestinians were killed overnight due to Israeli airstrikes. These casualties add to a death toll that has reportedly surpassed 53,000 since the start of hostilities, highlighting the immense human cost of the war.
Hospitals across northern Gaza are now out of service, according to the health ministry, and humanitarian agencies warn of a looming famine. The World Food Programme has called the situation a “race against time” due to the continued Israeli blockade restricting aid access.
Diplomatic Tensions Rise
Despite the violence, Israel has indicated a willingness to end hostilities as part of a broader agreement.
Meanwhile, the weekend ceasefire talks in Doha have not produced a breakthrough. Israel’s latest military actions may further complicate negotiations and draw increased international scrutiny.
The renewed offensive and high civilian toll come amid growing global concern, as world powers continue urging restraint and seeking ways to broker a lasting truce.
