Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the successful execution of Operation Bunyan Um Marsoos, a key military response to Indian aggression. The two leaders met at Jati Umra to discuss the country’s political, economic, and defense matters.

Briefing on National Security

During the meeting, PM Shehbaz briefed Nawaz Sharif on the latest national developments, focusing on the operation’s achievements and the vital role of the armed forces. He praised their efforts in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty under challenging circumstances.

Tribute to Armed Forces and Parliament

Nawaz Sharif lauded the professionalism and resolve of Pakistan’s military. He also acknowledged the Parliament’s strong and united stance during the crisis, noting that all political parties put aside differences to speak with one voice for national defense.

He appreciated elected representatives for standing with the armed forces and echoing public sentiment during critical moments.

Spirit of National Unity

Highlighting Pakistan’s recent military success, Nawaz Sharif expressed gratitude to Allah and the Pakistani nation. He emphasized the importance of continued unity, calling it a significant step toward long-term national strength.

He also praised the Pakistani media for its role in informing and uniting the public during the conflict.

New Economic Measures Announced

In a separate move, PM Shehbaz Sharif has set up a steering committee to implement the National Tariff Policy, aimed at boosting exports and revitalizing key industries. The Ministry of Commerce confirmed the formation of the committee, with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb appointed as its chairman.

The committee includes ministers from Commerce, Petroleum, Food Security, and Railways, along with senior officials and economic experts. The Ministry of Commerce will support the committee’s efforts with administrative assistance.

The government hopes this policy initiative will strengthen Pakistan’s economy alongside its military and diplomatic resilience.
