Renowned Pakistani mountaineer Sajid Sadpara has achieved a major milestone by summiting Dhaulagiri—the world’s seventh highest mountain at 8,167 meters—without supplemental oxygen or porter assistance. This bold ascent further cements his reputation in the global alpine community.
A Bold Ascent in Nepal
On May 4, Sajid joined three other Pakistani climbers to begin their expedition on Dhaulagiri, located in Nepal. By April 6, he had reached the base camp and soon started his rotations, pushing up to Camp 3 before returning to base.
The summit was confirmed by the Alpine Club of Pakistan. Sajid’s climb marked the first confirmed ascent of Dhaulagiri in the Spring 2025 season. He launched his final summit push from Camp IV at 6:15pm on Friday and reached the peak by 9:35am on Saturday.

Ninth 8,000m Peak—All Without Oxygen
This marks Sajid’s ninth successful ascent of a peak above 8,000 meters, all done without bottled oxygen or support teams. At just 29, his physical and mental endurance continues to set new benchmarks in high-altitude climbing.
Seven Summit Treks and Sabroso Pakistan organized the expedition. However Sajid used technical gear provided by Kailas and played an active role in fixing over 350 meters of rope to secure the final section of the route.
Carrying a Legacy
Sajid is the son of the late Muhammad Ali Sadpara, who lost his life during a winter K2 ascent in 2021. Sajid has openly committed to fulfilling his father’s dream—summiting all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks without supplemental oxygen.
He has already conquered Everest, K2, Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I, and II. Notably, he climbed K2 twice, once without oxygen, and summited both Gasherbrum peaks in just over three days.
A Symbol of Strength
Alpine Club Secretary Karrar Haidri called Sajid’s achievement a “historic milestone.” In conclusion Sajid’s courage and determination continue to inspire a new generation of Pakistani climbers—and elevate Pakistan’s standing in the world of mountaineering.
