Following the announcement of a ceasefire between Pakistan and India, celebrations erupted across major Pakistani cities on Saturday night. Citizens poured into the streets, waving flags and chanting slogans in support of the armed forces.

The public praised the Pakistan military for its powerful and strategic response to Indian aggression. Massive crowds gathered in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Hyderabad, and several other cities.

People held posters of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and raised slogans in favor of national unity. Fireworks lit up the night skies as cars honked in celebration.

The mood turned jubilant after Pakistan launched “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos” in retaliation to Indian missile attacks. India had launched multiple strikes on Pakistani airbases, including Nur Khan, Murid, and Shorkot, late Friday night.

In a swift and bold response, Pakistan targeted multiple Indian military installations. The operation destroyed India’s advanced S-400 air defence system at Adampur, according to military sources. Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder jets and hypersonic missiles led the counterattack.

Security experts hailed the precision and timing of the operation. British defence analyst Professor Michael Clarke noted that India may not have expected such a calculated and powerful show of force.

As the situation escalated for the fourth day, US President Donald Trump intervened. On Saturday, he announced that India and Pakistan had agreed to a “full and immediate ceasefire.”

Trump’s statement followed direct diplomatic efforts by Washington. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister confirmed the ceasefire, calling it a necessary step to avoid further escalation. India’s Ministry of External Affairs also acknowledged the agreement, with the ceasefire taking effect at 5 p.m. IST (1130 GMT).

Despite rising tensions earlier in the week, the ceasefire brought relief to citizens across the country. Many viewed Pakistan’s military operation as a moment of national pride.

In a heartwarming show of unity, members of Pakistan’s Hindu community also joined the celebrations in Karachi. A group of Hindu citizens gathered with portraits of General Asim Munir and placards reading, “Hindu community is with Pakistan’s protectors.” Images of the event went viral, symbolizing national cohesion.

Adding to the morale, renowned Muslim scholars across Pakistan also extended their heartfelt support for the mission. Prominent religious leaders praised the armed forces in Friday sermons and social media posts, calling the operation “a defence of the homeland and a stand for justice.” Their encouragement boosted public confidence and uplifted military spirits during tense hours.

Earlier, tensions had peaked when India’s cross-border strike on May 7 killed at least 31 civilians in Pakistan. In response, Pakistan downed five Indian fighter jets, including three Rafale aircraft, and dozens of drones.

Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos followed, marking a major tactical victory for Pakistan. Military experts believe the success of this operation forced India to agree to a ceasefire.

As calm returns, Pakistanis continue to express pride in their armed forces. Citizens and religious leaders alike are urging unity, vigilance, and preparation in the face of future threats.
