ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, on Wednesday declared that India had effectively admitted defeat by raising the white flag at the Line of Control (LoC).
Speaking to journalists at the Pak-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad, Tarar praised the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for its swift and effective retaliation to Indian aggression. He confirmed that the PAF had shot down five Indian fighter jets and a drone following Indian missile strikes on civilian areas in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was personally monitoring the situation and receiving constant updates from military and security officials.
Tarar emphasized that the Pakistani nation stood firmly united behind the armed forces. He called India’s targeting of civilians “highly regrettable” and said the PAF only hit Indian military aircraft involved in the attacks.
The minister noted that even Indian media had acknowledged the downing of the jets. “The entire Pakistani nation prayed for the success of our brave soldiers throughout the night,” he added.
He reminded the public that Pakistan had long suffered from terrorism and had lost more than 90,000 lives in its war against extremism.
Tarar also criticized India for rejecting Pakistan’s offer of an independent investigation into the recent Pahalgam incident, which India used as a pretext for launching attacks. He said India’s refusal showed it wanted to hide the truth and promote false narratives globally.

India’s Propaganda
“Pakistan has fought terrorism with great sacrifice. India’s propaganda campaign is an attempt to tarnish our global image,” Tarar said.
Meanwhile, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif confirmed that eight Pakistani civilians had embraced martyrdom in the Indian strikes. Thirty-five others were injured in 24 Indian attacks targeting six locations inside Pakistan.
The DG ISPR stated that two civilians remained missing. He added that in Kotli, a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy were killed when a missile hit Masjid-e-Abbas. A woman and her daughter were also injured in the strike.
Pakistan’s response, officials said, has sent a strong message to the aggressor.
