Why They Distract Us from Palestine: The Fear of Muslim Unity and the Power of Jihad

Share the latest news updates

For over seventy years, the tragedy of Palestine has remained a bleeding wound in the heart of the Muslim Ummah. Generations have witnessed Israeli occupation, brutal aggression, and relentless oppression against innocent civilians. Children have perished, homes have been flattened, and mosques have been bombed. And yet, despite such intense suffering, the world often looks away. Even more alarming is the fact that many Muslims have become distant from this cause. They remain distracted, diverted, and disengaged.

But why?

Because the enemies of Islam know something we often forget: when Muslims unite with true understanding of jihad, justice, and Islamic law, no empire can subdue their influence. Their fear is not rooted in our numbers or wealth, but in our potential to awaken. That awakening begins with Palestine.

Palestine: The Heartbeat of the Ummah

Palestine is not just a political issue. It is a deeply spiritual and historical struggle. It is the land of prophets. It is home to Masjid Al-Aqsa — the first qiblah and the third holiest site in Islam. It is where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) led the other prophets in prayer during Isra wal Mi’raj. It is where resistance, faith, and sacrifice define everyday life.

To forget Palestine is to forget a core part of our identity. But when support for Palestine gains momentum across the Muslim world, distractions suddenly appear. Conflicts erupt elsewhere, media stories shift, and attention is manipulated.

Manufactured Distractions: Designed to Divide

From Syria to Yemen, from Pakistan to Sudan, conflicts continue to erupt at suspiciously convenient times. Distractions are not coincidences — they are designed to divide our hearts and scatter our focus.

Political crises, sectarian violence, and fabricated threats are tools used to keep Muslims busy with internal struggles. When Muslims begin to mobilize for Palestine, new crises steal the spotlight.

Just recently, while global protests surged in support of Gaza, the Pahalgam incident emerged from India. The timing was peculiar. The media narrative was unclear, filled with inconsistencies and immediate blame. The goal was obvious: redirect outrage, shift the enemy, and confuse public sentiment.

Pahalgam

The incident in Pahalgam occurred just as eyes were glued to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. Rather than showing solidarity for oppressed Palestinians, the world was told to fear “terrorism” near a Hindu pilgrimage.

The narrative flipped the script: from Israel’s war crimes to unverified allegations against “militants” in Kashmir.

Muslims were again on the defensive, again painted as aggressors. This is not new. These tactics have long been used to divide Muslims, create internal panic, and weaken our unity.

They Fear Our Unity

Why does the world fear a unified Muslim response? Because they remember history. They know what the Islamic Caliphate once was: a civilization built on justice, knowledge, and compassion. Under its rule, scholars flourished, minorities were protected, and law reigned above oppression.

Colonial powers dismantled this unity precisely because it threatened their control. Today, they fear it could return. And they know jihad is not about war or violence — it is about struggle. The struggle to restore dignity, truth, and justice through moral, spiritual, and political awakening.

Psychological Occupation

Muslims are not just attacked through bombs. They are attacked through narratives. The media has become a tool of psychological occupation. It teaches us to mistrust one another, to adopt nationalist identities over Islamic ones, to focus on celebrities instead of martyrs, to seek comfort over sacrifice.

While we scroll through entertainment, they plan invasions. While we argue online, they expand settlements. While we sleep, they design policies that rob us of our lands and futures.

The irony? Deep down, we know this is happening.

We know the power Muslims possess. We know what will happen when the Qur’an and Sunnah become the foundation of our laws. We know that justice, charity (zakat), and unity can reshape the world.

Why They Fear Jihad

The word “jihad” has been weaponized. Western narratives have twisted it into something violent and fearful. But jihad means struggle in the path of truth. It means resisting injustice, fighting ignorance, and striving for Allah’s pleasure.

True jihad is the revival of Islamic principles in our homes, our societies, and our governments. That kind of revival terrifies the world. Because it doesn’t just change Muslims — it changes the global balance of power.

The Awakening Has Begun

Despite distractions, a new wave of consciousness is rising. From London to Jakarta, from Istanbul to Johannesburg, Muslims are beginning to see through the propaganda. Social media has played a role in breaking the monopoly of mainstream narratives. Independent voices now challenge global hypocrisy.

The youth are asking questions. Scholars are speaking up. Mothers, students, workers — all are beginning to recognize that Palestine is not an isolated issue. It is a symbol of our collective dignity.

When we defend Palestine, we defend ourselves. When we liberate Al-Aqsa, we liberate our souls.

What Must We Do Now?

  1. Reclaim Our Narrative: Stop relying on Western media to define our causes. We must tell our own stories, support independent Muslim journalism, and amplify truth.
  2. Educate Ourselves: Know the history of Palestine. Understand Zionism. Study Islamic governance. Read about the golden eras of Islam and the principles of Islamic law.
  3. Unite Beyond Borders: Nationalism divides. Islam unites. Whether Pakistani, Turkish, Arab, or African — our allegiance must first be to the Ummah.
  4. Support Real Leaders: Elevate those who speak truth to power. Expose sellouts who normalize with oppressors. Demand leadership that puts the Qur’an above foreign interests.
  5. Make Du’a and Take Action: Du’a is powerful. But it must be paired with action. Boycott oppressors. Donate to Palestine. Mobilize for protests. Advocate in schools and mosques.

The Final Word: Palestine Is Our Mirror

Palestine reflects the state of the Muslim Ummah. When it bleeds, we are wounded. When it resists, we are inspired.

“The greatest victory of the oppressor is convincing the oppressed to forget their power.”

Let us remember our power. Let us remember who we are. Let us fight for justice — not with hatred, but with conviction, love, and unshakeable faith.

The world fears the awakening of Muslim hearts. It fears the revival of Islamic justice. It fears the return of unity, strength, and jihad.

It is time we give them a reason to fear again.
