Violence Claims Lives of Security Personnel
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned an alleged attack by protesters that killed four security personnel. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the deaths of three Rangers and one Punjab police officer.

Naqvi reported that two additional police officers and several Rangers sustained critical injuries. Around 70 Punjab police officers were hurt, with five in critical condition.
State-run media claimed five security personnel, including two police officers, died. Rangers were reportedly rammed by a vehicle on Srinagar Highway during the clashes.
PTI accused security forces of firing live ammunition at its protesters. The party claimed two supporters died and four were injured.

The party described the protesters as “unarmed” and accused authorities of inciting violence through tear gas shelling and direct firing. PTI also claimed the government was using state power to suppress dissent, calling it a “fake regime.”
Government Stance and Army Deployment
PM Shehbaz Sharif labeled the clashes as “extremism under the guise of protest.” He directed officials to identify those responsible for the violence and ensure justice.

The premier said bloodshed for political purposes was unacceptable and warned against chaos. “This is not a peaceful protest but an attempt at anarchy,” he added.
State media reported that the army was deployed under Article 245 to maintain order in Islamabad. Officials vowed to hold miscreants accountable while offering support to the families of the deceased.
Efforts to negotiate a venue for the protest failed as PTI leaders rejected a government proposal to shift the demonstration to Sangjani, a location outside the city.
