Elon Musk hire Dog ‘Floki’ as CEO twitter

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has announced that he has appointed his pet dog ‘Floki’ as the new CEO of Twitter.

Musk made the announcement on Wednesday via a tweet, which included a picture of Floki sitting on the CEO’s chair with the caption “The new CEO of Twitter is amazing”.

Musk went on to describe Floki as “great with numbers” and possessing a keen sense of style. He also commented that the dog was a better CEO than his predecessor, whose name he did not mention.

The tweet sparked a variety of reactions from Twitter users, with some expressing amusement and others questioning the wisdom of appointing an animal to such an important position.

One user asked if Twitter would be adding the option of reporting animal abuse under the new leadership.

Musk had previously expressed his desire to step down as CEO of Twitter, but had struggled to find a suitable replacement. In response to a poll he ran in December 2022, where 57.5% of respondents called for his resignation, Musk had stated that he would only continue to run the software and servers teams until he found “someone foolish enough” to take over.

However, Musk had also expressed doubts about finding a suitable successor, stating that “no one wants a job who can actually keep Twitter alive”.

His decision to appoint his pet dog as CEO appears to be a tongue-in-cheek response to this predicament.

While it remains to be seen how Floki will perform in his new role, Musk’s announcement has generated significant attention on social media.

Some commentators have speculated that the move may be part of a larger strategy by Musk to generate buzz and increase engagement with the platform.

Regardless of the motivations behind the appointment, it is clear that Floki has some big paws to fill as CEO of one of the world’s largest social media platforms. Only time will tell if he is up to the task
