He said that the rate of road accidents is increasing due to non-compliance of motorists with traffic rules which results into dangerous accidents.
Kaukab Iqbal also said that parents are providing cars and motorbikes to young children who are even not at the age to obtain license. Due to reckless driving, the rate of accidents is also increasing fast. The second reason is not following the proper lines during driving, as it has now become a norm that the heavy traffic in the city starts running ahead without schedule.
“Approximately, more than 80 percent people in the city of Karachi do not have driving license nor do they know about the traffic rules. Due to the congested roads and overcrowding in the city, innumerable accidents are taking place on daily basis. Traffic laws should be read as subjects in educational institutions. On the contrary, every educational institution is required to educate the students about the traffic laws”, Chairman CAP said.
Consumer Road Safety Conference is such a platform which gives complete awareness to the masses regarding the traffic laws and also to capture the attention of the family members.
