Babar Azam needs 121 runs to break Chris Gayle’s record

Pakistan captain Babar Azam is so close to achieving another global record, as he is just 121 runs in seven innings away from breaking Gayle’s world record.

According the record books Azam has become the fastest T20 batsman to reach 7,000 runs and has, currently, scored 6,879 T20 runs from 184 innings so far.

Babar Azam is the fastest batsman to amass 7,000 runs in T20 cricket.

Babar Azam previously held the record for being the fastest Asian batsman reach 3,000, 4,000, and 6,000 T20 runs.

He is also the Asian player with the fastest 1,000 T20I runs and the fastest 2,000 T20I runs.

The ICC’s ODI Player Rankings presently place Babar Azam as the top batsman and the Indian skipper Virat Kohli at the second number.

The Pakistani captain has recently been on a roll, putting up solid opening duo partnerships with wicketkeeper Rizwan to assist the squad put up a decent total in T20Is.

The cricketer expressed his gratitude for the honor and credited all of his achievements to the Almighty, claiming that everything happens because of the Almighty’s will.

Both players are presently participating in the National T20 series and have been picked for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
