Christina Aguilera opens up about ‘insecurity’ over ‘super skinny’
Christina Aguilera, a well-known singer, and songwriter opens up about needing to see pictures of her “super-skinny” former self.
The singer opened up to Health magazine, saying, “I suppose we all have our good days and our bad days in terms of how we feel for ourselves.”
When I first started in this industry, I despised the fact that I was too thin. I started turning out a little after I turned 21, and I loved my new curves. I enjoyed making a booty. I’ve always thought that women are much more attractive to look at than guys!”
“It’s difficult for me to look at early images of myself because I recall feeling so vulnerable. I’d never want to relive my twenties because you’re so focused on yourself and gaining your faith. When you get older, you stop comparing yourself to someone and start appreciating and owning your own body.”
She went on to say, “What beauty is really about is accepting yourself.” As much as I like becoming a glam girl and dressing up for the camera, when it all comes together, that’s what’s ultimately really rewarding—being able to feel very confident about who’s looking back at you in the mirror, because you’re owning all of it.”
