On Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan set up a three-member committee to investigate the outrageous vote-buying video of Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Inasf (PTI) MPAs reportedly taking bribes before the 2018 Senate elections.
According to the reports, the premiere took notice of the video and directed the matter to be probed by a committee consisting of two federal ministers and one of his advisors.
The members of the committee include Fawad Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Science and Technology, PM’s Advisor on Accountability and Interior Mirza Shahzad Akbar, and Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari.
PM Imran has asked the committee to submit a detailed summary of the incident within a month.
Footage showing lawmakers reportedly taking money for voting for the PPP candidates in the 2018 Senate polls stimulated a storm on Tuesday with PM Imran Khan commanding Khyber-Pakhtunkwa (K-P) chief minister to remove Sultan Muhammad Khan, an incumbent provincial minister.
