Karachi: Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the online agri-dashboard prepared by the National Security Division, saying that every step should be taken to curb the rise in prices of flour, sugar, and pulses.
A series of weekly review meetings of priority sectors will begin under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The Prime Minister approved an online agri-dashboard made by the National Security Division which will monitor the prices and availability of food items.
The meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Moeed Yousuf, secretaries of relevant ministries and senior officials, as well as the chief secretaries of the four provinces via video link.
Not only will the dashboard play a significant role in avoiding any crisis, but will also be extremely effective in preventing the profiteers from hoarding.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister directed that items like flour, sugar, and pulses are very important for the poor families and steps should be taken to keep their prices under control.
Imran Khan further said that steps should be taken to increase exports and find local alternatives for imports so as to increase the current account surplus and not put pressure on foreign exchange reserves.
